I always felt a strong connection to farm animals. My father had sheep, donkeys, pigs, etc. But it’s been more recently that I discovered the importance of these animals in agriculture. I believe that one of the success keys of organic farming is the incorporation of animals. On a balanced setting, each one of them would have a function: some clear the ground and others offer incomparable fertilizers. How, when and where is the question. We must learn how to utilize their qualities. I also believe it’s very important to use indigenous breeds. In our case the Andalusian goat, the Spanish Horse and the “segurena” sheep are naturally adapted to our climate and vegetation.
